Non-Traditional Adult Students

Graduate Memphis

Graduate Memphis, an action initiative of Leadership Memphis and the Memphis Talent Dividend, launched in 2012. Thanks to a generous grant from the Plough Foundation, they were able to open our College Resource Center in the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library. It also means that we are able to offer all services completely for free!

We offer free advising to working and out-of-work adults, nontraditional students, parents with hectic schedules. We also partner with many local schools and organizations in order to find the best program for non-traditional students. We offer assistance dealing with defaulted student loans, scholarship resources, advising services and counseling as to which industries and careers will be best for the adult.

TN Reconnect

Tennessee Reconnect is the Drive to 55 initiative to help more adults complete a post-secondary degree or credential.

Tennessee has between 900,000 and 1 million adults with some college but no degree. It is impossible to achieve the mission of the Drive to 55 without re-engaging these students and helping them finish their degree or certificate.

As part of Tennessee Reconnect, all Tennessee adults can now attend and earn a diploma or certificate at any of our 27 Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCATs) completely free of tuition and fees.
